Annex I of NR-24 Sanitary and Comfort Conditions in Shopping Centers

1. For the purposes of this Annex, a “Shopping Center” is defined as a planned space under central administration subject to standardized contractual norms, aiming to ensure integrated coexistence, consisting of establishments such as stores of any nature and kiosks, snack bars, restaurants, cinemas, and parking lots, intended for commercial exploitation and service provision.

2. The central administration is responsible for providing sanitary facilities, locker rooms, and meal areas for its workers and the workers of establishments that do not have the constructive space to meet the provisions of this NR in their establishments.

    2.1 The central administration will provide a place for the preservation and heating of food brought by workers, as well as for meal consumption.

    2.2 The central administration will provide a locker room for workers required to wear uniforms and work clothing, as well as for the storage of their belongings.

    3. The establishments referred to in item 1 are exempt from items related to sanitary facilities, locker rooms, and meal areas, provided that workers can use the sanitary facilities and the food court of the “Shopping Center” or another designated space for these purposes, as established in this standard.

    4. Workers in snack bars, restaurants, or similar establishments must have locker rooms and sanitary facilities with showers available in the proportion of one set for every group of 20 (twenty) workers or fraction thereof, according to the schedule of the shift with the largest contingent.

      4.1 Workers in activities involving exposure to infectious material, toxic substances, irritants, or dirt must have locker rooms and sanitary facilities with showers available in the proportion of one set for every group of 10 (ten) workers or fraction thereof, according to the schedule of the shift with the largest contingent.
