(SSST Ordinance No. 12, of November 12, 1979)

List of activities involving biological agents, whose hazardous conditions are characterized by qualitative assessment.

Maximum Unhealthy Conditions

Work or operations involving permanent contact with:

  • patients in isolation due to infectious-contagious diseases, as well as objects used by them that have not been previously sterilized;
  • meats, glands, viscera, blood, bones, hides, hairs, and excretions of animals carrying infectious-contagious diseases (anthrax, brucellosis, tuberculosis);
  • sewage (sewers and tanks); and
  • urban waste (collection and processing).

Medium Unhealthy Conditions

Work and operations involving permanent contact with patients, animals, or infectious-contagious material, in:

  • hospitals, emergency services, wards, clinics, vaccination posts, and other establishments intended for human health care (applies only to personnel who have contact with patients, as well as those who handle objects used by these patients, not previously sterilized);
