1. BASIC COURSE – SAFETY IN ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS AND SERVICES

I – For authorized workers: minimum course load – 40 hours:

Minimum Program:

1. Introduction to Electrical Safety.
2. Risks in electrical installations and services:
a) electric shock; mechanisms and effects;
b) electric arcs; burns and falls;
c) electromagnetic fields.
3. Techniques for Risk Analysis.
4.Electrical Risk Control Measures:
a) de-energization.
b) functional grounding (TN / TT / IT); protection; temporary;
c) equipotentialization;
d) automatic isolation system;
e) residual current devices;
f) extra-low voltage;
g) barriers and enclosures;
h) blockages and impediments;
i) obstacles and shields;
j) insulation of live parts;
k) double or reinforced insulation;
l) placing out of reach;
m) electrical separation.
5. Brazilian Technical Standards (NBR) in ABNT: NBR-5410, NBR 14039 and others;
6. Regulations of the MTE:
a) NRs;
b) NR10 (Safety in Electrical Installations and Services);

2. ADDITIONAL COURSE – SAFETY IN ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEM (SEP) AND IN ITS PROXIMITY.

It is prerequisite to participate, with satisfactory use, in previously defined basic course in order to attend this additional course.

Minimum course load – 40 hours

(*) These topics will be developed and specifically tailored to the work conditions characteristic to each branch, operation patterns, voltage level and other peculiarities specific to the special type and condition of activity, regarding to the hierarchy in the worker’s technical improvement.

3. Behavioral aspects.

g) working at height, special machines and equipments.
